All is set for the rolling out of this year’s Affordable Input Program (AIP) which avails criticial farm items such as fertilizer, seed and livestock to communities across the country.

According to communication by Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for the Technical Services,Medrina Mloza Banda, the Ministry is finalising preparing the names of beneficiaries.
Banda has assured Malawians that they should not despair as everything is in place to ensure that this year’s exercise is successful.
“We are working on the list, very soon, the names will be released. People should not get worried because we still want that, by October people start accessing the inputs targeting,” said Banda.
A total of 150, 000 metric tonnes of fertiliser are expected to be sold under the AIP this farming season.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the release of the list of beneficiaries has been delayed because the Ministry has been taken into account all the technical hitches that marred last years programme.
Food security remains President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera’s priority.
May the ministry of agriculture hasten the process hence the delay in accessing the AIP will have severe effects on the farm produce.
