Before his departure in Johennesberg, South Africa where he attended the BRICS Summit, President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera had an audience with the Chaiman of Clermont Group and Chandler Foundation founder Richard Chandler.
Writing on his Facebook page, President Chakwera said Chandler Foundation has been a key partner in the fight against corruption in the country.
He said the meeting helped him to appraise the Foundation on the progress of the fight against graft in the country.
He writes: “In concluding our schedule at the BRICS tour, I have held an interface with Richard Chandler, who is Chair of Clermont Group and Founder of Chandler Foundation and Institute of Government.”
He continued: “The Chandler Foundation has become a key partner in our Anti- Corruption drive through a range of capacity building interventions. Last year they sponsored the National Anti-Corruption Conference which I convened to galvanise efforts against the vice.”
The Chandler Foundation has also played a huge role in activations of Malawi’s membership in the Open Government Partnership which enhances transparency and accountability in the Private Sector.
