Few days ago Airlink opened its business window to Malawi. This is good news for Malawi because it means more business opportunities for Malawians.

Again this shows how confident companies are to invest in Malawi.

Airlink has marked another milestone in its commitment to providing convenient and reliable air travel options by inaugurating two new routes to Malawi.

These routes, connecting Johannesburg to Lilongwe and Blantyre, not only bolster Airlink’s extensive network but also contribute to establishing Malawi as an attractive destination for both business and tourism.

With this expansion, Airlink’s network now spans an impressive 46 destinations across the region.

Airlink’s commitment to promoting connectivity and economic growth in the region has been reaffirmed with the introduction of flights to Malawi. The airline believes that by launching services to Lilongwe and Blantyre, it can contribute to Malawi’s appeal as a desirable destination for both tourism and business.

Rodger Foster, Airlink’s CEO and Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm for the new routes, saying, “In launching Airlink’s services, we are helping to establish Malawi as an attractive destination for tourism and business and support its economic diversification strategy by providing convenient, reliable, and competitive flights to Johannesburg and with convenient connections to other Airlink destinations and the rest of the world with our constellation of long-haul partners.”

Malawi A Top Travel Destination.

Malawi’s inclusion in Lonely Planet’s top 10 Best in Travel countries last year speaks volumes about its appeal. The country boasts a wealth of attractions, including the stunning Lake Malawi, the third-largest in Africa and ninth-largest in the world. This vast water body resembles an inland sea and is just one of the many natural wonders that await visitors. Malawi also offers opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts, adventurers, and those interested in exploring its rich cultural heritage. Airlink will initially operate both routes with 37-seat Embraer ERJs, ensuring passenger comfort and efficiency.

The flight schedule has been designed to accommodate travelers’ needs, with services departing and arriving on specific days of the week.
