Chakwera meets Hosken and other 3 prospective investors in South Africa

President Lazarus Chakwera who is currently in South Africa attending the 15th Summit for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS), on Tuesday, 22nd August engaged a number of potential investors to consider investing in Malawi.

Among the investors, President Chakwera met were Hosken Consolidation Investment Limited, Blue Energy Africa, Natal East India Private Limited, and Sizampilo Projects who have expressed interest in various investments in Malawi.

On its part, Hosken Consolidation Investments Limited (HCI) through its officials with a diverse portfolio in hotel and leisure, interactive gaming, media and broadcasting, transport, mining and properties has earmarked to invest in tourism and gaming sectors specifically targeting Likoma Activity Centre Project.

On the other hand, Sizimpilo Projects has expressed interest to finance and construct the Twin Towers at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.

Writing on his official page after meeting the investors, President Chakwera said he has assured the investors of a friendly business climate that is well supported by government’s deliberate policy framework.

“We are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the Malawi we all aspire for is realized in line with our development targets” Added President Chakwera in his message to Malawians via his Facebook page.

Also present during the meeting were officials from Blue Energy Africa which is a leading Pan African developer of clean energy infrastructure and expressed to invest in over 200 megawatts of power generation within a year, and officials from Natal East India Pty Limited which is a rice processing company whose interest is to invest in Lifuwu Rice Mega Farm.
