Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC) says is saddened by the untimely demise of the fierce human rights activist, Leon Matanda.
HRCC Chairperson Rober Mkwezalamba says the Civil society community has lost a humble person in Matanda.
Mkwezalamba says :
” Leon was an instrumental strategist very resourceful in seeking information from duty bearers that informed our actions. A man of the people who loves peace and was very humble including to children, he has never relented protecting children and promoting good governance, we will greatly miss his passionate and peaceful voice. May he rest in eternal peace!”
Matanda died peacefully on Tuesday morning at his area 18 home. He will be missed by many.
According to family sources , burial is on Wednesday 6th September at area 18 cemetery with vigil at his area 18/1415 house and later a Kapita CCAp church.
