The assertion being propagated by erstwhile ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to have President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera resign from his position due to the current economic challenges is a waste of time, government spokesperson Moses Kunkuyu has said.
At a press conference on Monday 28th August 2023, DPP politburo demanded President Chakwera to relinquish his power saying he has failed to govern the country.
But reacting to the to the news on Tuesday during Kulinji Program on Times Radio, Kunkuyu who is Minister of Information and Digitalization described DPP assertion as anger emanating from bitterness.
Kunkuyu explained that President Chakwera is currently in the thick of things correcting anomalies left by DPP and that resignation is not in his vocabulary.
“The assertion being propagated by DPP to have President Chakwera step down is a waste of time,” emphasized the cool speaking Kunkuyu.
“DPP should know that currently, Chakwera is very busy making sure that good roads are being constructed, that maize is available in all ADMARC depots, that no person living with albinism gets killed and indeed several other important issues to make Malawi a better place for all.”
