Former Minister of Energy and Mining Rolf Patel has hailed President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for his zeal and passion to develop this country.
Patel said this in an exclusive interview with our reporters saying Malawi is moving forward in terms of development due to direction and focus which President Chakwera has demonstrated.
Hon Patel gave the example about roads construction projects taking place in Malawi’s major cities of Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Zomba and Blantyre, saying these cities will no longer be the same.
Patel has since urged Ministry of Transport to use only qualified contractors so that projects output are of durable quality.
What Honourable Patel is saying is exactly what Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Elsenhower Mkaka said while expressing gratitude to the Malawi President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for the enormous developments going on across the country despite the numerous challenges being faced.
Mkaka said this in Lilongwe during a development rally which was organized soon after commissioning of Kamuzu Dam 1.
Mkaka said people should learn to appreciate where it is due. Malawi started experiencing challenges from 2015 when the country experienced extended draughts.
From 2015 Malawi has been hit by various natural calamities.
Mkaka said if one has to go in Lilongwe City “Ndithu akasochera”, Lilongwe is no longer the same.
