Ministry of Agriculture is having sleepless nights to ensure distribution of maize is done in a timely manner. The distribution exercise has started with Southern region.

The distribution of maize is inline with what President Dr Lazarus Chakwera said while in the Southern region that no one will die of hunger.

From Luncheza National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA) Government has distributed to Khonjeni 20metric tonnes and Lunchenza market has also got 20.

Nsanje has got 15, Nsenzani 30mt, Mdeka 15mt, Kwenengwe 20mt, Thyolo 20mt, Mangochi 30mt and Zingwangwa 15mt.
The Ministry has also distributed 20 Metric tonnes to Mthiramanja Admarc.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also given; Makwasa, Molere, Mbiza , Mwamadi, Chaone, Thekerani, Milonde 30 metric tonnes of maize to each depot all totaling 210 mt from Limbe NFRA.

In Central region the Ministry has distributed 40 Metric tonnes and this include Mtonga Admarc in Salima, 15 and Lifidzi and Kamuona 15 and 10 each.

Zomba has received 30mt, Mangochi 30mt and Sedi 30mt meaning Eastern region has received a total of 90 mt.

In the same vein; Nkhotakota has got 15mt , Chikombe, 15mt
Nkhunga 30mt, Makioni 10mt totaling to 70 mt.

The Ministry has loaded 13Mt for Usisya depots, 20mt for Chizumulo and Likoma .

Zingwangwa has received 15mt
Mbulumbuzi 30mt, Goliati- 30mt
Bangula- 20mt, Mbewe- 20mt
Matindi- 20mt.

Meanwhile , Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale has assured Malawians of more loading to different depot.
